Yesterday I took a day all to myself. I don’t do that very often, and it feels like such a delicious luxury. When you work (mostly) for yourself, you get to determine your schedule. Yet I often feel like I’m even busier than when I worked outside the home full-time! It’s just that I wear so many hats: unschooling Mom, writer, small-business entrepreneur, percussion player, friend, priestess….I could go on, but I won’t. So it was wonderful to take a little mini-retreat day.
Ocean loaned me her lovely cottage by the sea for the day, while she was at work. I did yoga, meditated, took a long walk along the shore and through the woods, created art, tended the woodstove, drummed, and put on some tunes and danced around her house. I pondered as I wandered the trails, and reflected on where I’ve been and where I’m going.
It’s great to get a bigger perspective sometimes, to realize more tangibly that we are deeply connected with nature and the Earth, and beyond. To have a talk with your inner self and seek wisdom from your guides and Divine connection. I received lots of interesting answers and a huge feeling of love and support. I sat in a tree by the ocean, saw a beautiful hawk, and glimpsed the tail of a bunny as she hopped away. The crescent moon at dusk was amazing.
I also have my Word of the Year for 2013, and I created a vision board. I have a whole new idea for this year, in terms of goals and plans…but I’m not quite ready to share yet. More on that later. In the meantime, I’ve jumped back into the flow of daily life, re-energized and renewed. And so very grateful!
