Starcat’s Favorites: Just Keep Dancing

After a very busy and emotional couple of weeks (see my last post for more details), I had a very magickal weekend. Friday night we attended a kirtan at Portland Yoga Studio at the invitation of my friend Jenn. BlackLion and I joined the musicians and had fun drumming as well as singing. Saturday was dedicated to a big community ritual dedicated to seeking vision for the Maine Pagan community. It was the first such event, envisioned and manifested by some folks we know, and we helped to create it. Quester contributed some chants and music, BlackLion and I drummed, and I helped to craft the ritual itself. I had an amazing and powerful experience there, and look forward to what will now be an annual autumn event. This morning, we had a Dark Follies rehearsal, so more drumming was done. And now…blessed rest. I’m going to catnap, read, relax, and be fed dinner by some of my awesome family members. Huzzah for the weekend!

Before I go rest, and before you get caught up in the coming week’s activities, here are some links you might want to check out. I hope you enjoy reading them, and find some ideas that uplift you and spark your imagination!

Whether you’re a dyed-in-the-wool unschooler, or have no idea what I’m talking about, I highly recommend this post on the meaning of unschooling.

Going with the parenting theme for a moment (bear with me if you have no kids, this will be relevant!), I love this article on kids and individuality. And it applies to adults as well, both in the way most of us were raised (to suppress what made us weird or different, in order to conform in school) and also the unfolding that goes on when you learn to value your own individuality.

Did you know you’re beautiful? Yes, you! Here’s how one woman discovered her own beauty, bit by bit, in a yoga studio mirror.

Feeling wonky? Here are some signs from your intuition that will help you find your path again.

I love this guide to spreading love. The world can always use more actively-expressed love!

And finally, an interview with one of my all-time favorite authors, Alice Walker.

Blessings!

P.S. I almost forgot, please go check out our new guided meditation CD! You can go to the Feline Dreamers website, or find it right here in my Starcat’s Corner Shop. Thanks!
